Save time and money in Dubai!
Trippin respects the wisdom of crowds, so we have collected the tips and recommendations from travelers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi that will save you a lot of time and money! Short and sweet, let’s get started!
🚕 Transportation
May Goldstein’s tip
Taxis in Dubai are very organized and relatively cheap. You just have to notice that there are taxis with a yellow “hat” and the top of the taxi is a different color – and these are the taxis you should take. There are black/white taxis without roofs (which look like normal private vehicles) that take 3 times the price of a normal taxi (they don’t operate a meter).
1. The taxi with the red top is a taxi from the field and it starts from 25 dirhams. The trip to the hotel in Downtown cost us 45 dirhams one way and 55 dirhams return.
2. The taxis with the blue/green upper part (usually) are taxis within the city and they start the trip from 5.5 dirhams and each trip costs around 20-30 dirhams.
In a rough estimate, we spent around 400 dirhams on taxis in four and a half days.
Daniel Oknin’s tip
Taxis are not expensive, but quite a few taxis are needed from place to place and this makes the cost of the vacation very expensive, it is better to buy tickets with pick up and drop off from the hotel in advance.
Dubai to Abu Dhabi :
If you are looking for a cheap option to travel from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, I recommend you to take a bus. There are several bus services available that operate between the two cities, such as the E100 and E101 buses. These buses are comfortable, reliable and through economical travel you can easily find the bus stations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The trip usually takes about two hours, depending on traffic conditions.
🏨 Hotels
Hila Siboni’s tip
Paramount Dubai – nice business hotel, beautiful room, clean and serviceable. Not far from the mall (by taxi) but far from the beaches and the Palm area.
Pay attention ❤️ If you are interested in a beach and a pool, I recommend taking a slightly more luxurious hotel that you won’t have to leave much and it has a beach
Shaked Hazan’s tip
We chose to sleep in Downtown (the city center. Very close to the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. For those who came to Dubai for the first time, it was really great for us) and we chose the Sofitel Dubai Downtown hotel. A five-star hotel in an excellent location. The hotel was simply wonderful! The attitude of the employees was really excellent, the breakfast was really rich and varied with food from all over the world (Asian, Indian, their local food, and there were also omelettes prepared personally, salads, cheeses, etc.). In addition, we took a room with access to the lounge so we also had a buffet in the morning, lunch and evening and free alcohol in the evening. In short – nothing was missing. The room was large and spacious with an impressive view (we were on floor 16 out of 31). A large bath facing the view and also a shower. In short, we really enjoyed the hotel and we highly recommend it to those who want a vacation and also a good location. By the way, the hotel has an excellent Asian restaurant that we also ate at one of the evenings and of course a large pool.
🍽️ Restaurants
Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant Bread street kitchen & bar – the restaurant is located in Atlantis (in the area of the Palm). We of course took the Beef Wellington! We took the couple’s dish and another side dish of pasta with cheese. The Beef Wellington was massive!! But in my opinion it was possible to take the individual’s portion and share (the couple’s portion was large and we could not finish it). It also comes with caramelized carrots and mashed potatoes. On Wednesday evenings there is a special menu (we were at noon so we didn’t have it). We ended up with a bill of 610 dirhams (the tip is included in the price).
The well-known Asian restaurant Zuma – a well-known Asian restaurant in the world with branches in London, Bangkok, New York and more. The branch in Dubai is beautiful and prestigious. Stunning design, good music and the food – perfect! We enjoyed every moment. We took 2 rolls, tataki, 2 glasses of wine and dessert and paid 530 dirhams.
The restaurant Ce La Vi – a simply excellent restaurant on the 54th floor of the Address Hotel (which is close to our hotel). We went there at noon and they have a special menu from 12:00 to 15:00 of a meal that includes a first course + main and dessert for 140 dirhams per person. The risotto there was the tastiest we’ve ever eaten in our life and there’s not a dish we didn’t like 🙂
The restaurant of the Turkish chef Nuser-et – let’s start from the end: the hype is not worth it! We make more of the restaurant than we think it is (in terms of value for money). The price is really excessive!! For 2 bottles of water – 100 NIS. We got a total of 200 grams of fillet, carpaccio and mashed potatoes and 2 bottles of water – NIS 935 (not including tip). What’s more, there is a show for every dish and it’s such an experience. In my opinion, the restaurant is recommended for those who come with friends and not as a couple, because then you can share dishes so it’s nicer. 5. Wakame Restaurant! We came by chance because we wanted one evening in Chill and it was simply fantastic! Asian cuisine with impressive food. The design is also stunning, dark and with small lights… so romantic. It’s relatively quiet there, it’s not an entertainment place with music like at Zuma, but it’s for those who want very good food and a relaxed atmosphere, so it’s highly recommended. We ate 3 rolls + adamama + tuna pizza + 2 glasses of wine for 450 dirhams.
🧁 Desserts
Aviv’s tip was spring
1. The best of them is the Cascading Cake dessert at Saya. It’s a dessert of ganache, ice cream, biscuit crumbs and sponge cake. comes out of such a transparent tube. There are three flavors (roses, saffron and pistachio), we took the pistachio. It cost 76 dirhams and was really delicious 🙂
2. We also ate at Hafiz Mustafa, of course, which has a crazy hype and is located in the Dubai Mall on the bottom floor. We took 3 baklavas and it cost us 30 dirhams.
3. We ate an Emirati dessert called Luqaimat at the Global Village. It’s a kind of small donuts with date sauce on top. It cost us 25 dirhams for their small box which was really not small.
Gil Alon’s tip
In Dubai there are many good restaurants outside the mall with a beautiful view of the fountains and the Burj (in a stunning evening there!)
One really good Asian restaurant, with huge portions and the food is perfect and really cheap!
Cheesecake Factory is a restaurant inside the mall – excellent, inexpensive and large dishes..oh and their cakes Amala!!!
For all lovers of luxury
*GAL Restaurant A restaurant in the prestigious area next to the mall has a balcony and atmosphere (minimum 400 per diner)
*Hofa restaurant has a minimum for the diner a Greek and bouncy atmosphere.
*The Bilnioner restaurant is a very prestigious restaurant with performances and music, a high minimum per diner.
* The hotel’s Sahlhoi restaurant is a prestigious address and a minimum of 500 per diner.
(for all of these you need to reserve a place in advance)
🏖️ Beaches and pools
Dor Segal’s tip
Namos – my best experience here!!
A luxurious place with a perfect and high level atmosphere! An experience you won’t forget!
A bed costs 300 per person and the whole stay costs 500 and is worth every shekel! I would come back in a big way
There is a good restaurant there at 16:00 a party starts (Omer Adam and Yael Shelbia were 🤪)
Five Plum – the beach is cute, there is an area on the beach that is free for women. Those who want a party should check when the parties are usually at the pool and there is a minimum order for those who want to be present.
Twiggy – a neat beach with an atmosphere, there is a restaurant and parties (depending on when) costs 250 per bed.
GBR – free beach with a large marina of restaurants and a good atmosphere in the area (worth it)
🎪 Attractions
Elin Peretz’s tip
Burj Khalifa – of course you can’t be in Dubai without going up to the Burj. We arrived at 08:30 in the morning (we ordered tickets in advance through the website the day before) and because we came in the morning we didn’t have a queue! So we really recommend it.
2. Aura pool – the highest panoramic infinity pool (360 degrees) in the world! We took the option of a couch in the first row to the pool and it cost us 250 dirhams per person ☀️👙 You get a cloth bag as a gift and of course there are towels throughout the stay and the showers there are clean and tidy.
3. Premium desert safari – we closed the trip through Tripin. We were welcomed by Mahmoud, a really charming guy, who besides taking care of everything for us in advance, is also a gracious photographer and takes pictures of fire from the desert!! Highly recommend!!! We took a jeep trip that also included sandboarding, a barbecue dinner including a fire show and belly dancers. We were picked up from the hotel at 15:20 and returned at 21:00. It cost 165 dirhams per person (we were two couples).
4. The Global Village – a huge complex with representation of 78 countries from all over the world. There is a pavilion for each country/continent with a small market, a show and some have the traditional foods. Each dish costs around 20-40 dirhams. We spent about four and a half hours there.
5. Miracle Garden – the flower garden of Dubai. A really stunning place. There is even the village of the smurfs, a real plane covered in flowers, shady arbors if you want to rest and have a snack, there are food stalls and in short a really beautiful place. It is recommended to get there before the Global Village (they are quite close to each other, a taxi between them costs 30 dirhams). I recommend going to the Miracle Garden at 16:00 and spending about one and a half to two hours and then go to the Global Village.
6. Address Sky View observation and the transparent slide, the observation is stunning the slide is nonsense but it’s in one really cheap ticket
Kosher in Dubai
The tip of the seagull Assouline
Say bye-bye to the suitcase and the cans-
In Abu Dhabi there are several options for kosher keepers.
I have summarized all the available options for you (as of today, yes, this means that there will be more in the future).
Eli’s kosher kitchen – located in the Aloft hotel and offers catering services to all of Abu Dhabi, 24 hours in advance. Guests staying in Abu Dhabi (in all hotels) can order kosher meals using a simple digital form, including transportation to the requested hotel. This service includes breakfasts, hot meals and even Shabbat meals and equipment rentals (such as a Shabbat plate). If necessary, you can also contact the staff with personal requests. Minimum order 150 dirhams, the prices are affordable and the same as in Israel, you can order challah and Friday meals, the service is personal and high-quality, which is in the kosher of the https://elliskosherkitchen.com/
The Kosher Place Abu Dhabi – a kosher restaurant and catering services located in the Rich Carlton Hotel has a very wide variety of meals, from breakfast to dinner. The website is easy to use, in Hebrew, English and French, it provides solutions for Fridays, holidays and special events, it is also under the local rabbinate. https://thekosherplace.ae/abu-dhabi
“Rimon” – the first kosher supermarket in the Arabian Gulf, offers kosher products and foods that Israelis miss, chicken and meat products of premium quality and strictly kosher, as well as a fresh and kosher Jewish food market of all denominations in honor of Shabbat. The supermarket products will soon also be available for delivery across the Emirates.

BASSAR online store – you can order kosher meat products directly to your home, through the website, which allows the general public to place an order with same-day delivery within a few hours, to a private address in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, under optimal refrigeration and shipping conditions and at the highest standards. The store offers a variety of kosher and high-quality meat products, from fresh, clean and ready-to-cook meat, to frozen and chilled products, and even explanations of the requested cut, recipes and preparation recommendations.

Carrefour or Lulu Market – both supermarket chains have products with OU or KLD training, this is a convenient and accessible solution for those who are stuck and are looking for closed food details, without the need to bring from the country.
💡More important tips from Bar Azoulai :
1. Take an adapter with you because the sockets there are different (or ask the hotel).
2. Download the Careem application beforehand in Israel. This is their app for taxis. We made a mistake and did not download in advance and because we could not receive SMS there, we could not confirm the code and connect to the application and relied on luck in finding taxis. We recommend that you download in advance.
3. In this context, we made a surfing package through Airalo as in every destination we fly to. For those who don’t know it – it’s an application on the mobile to use eSIM (no need for an external SIM card). The price for 3GB in Dubai is $22.50 before discount. I have a coupon code that gives $3 off: BATEL3007. I have a detailed explanation of this on my Instagram page. Just check if your cell phone supports it before purchasing. https://airalo.pxf.io/airalolink
